Drone-shot videos, photos and maps from areas under siege from the North Complex Fire are now available for the public to view, Butte County Sheriff Kory Honea said during a press briefing on Saturday.
Links to those videos have been posted at www.buttecounty.net/sheriff.
While area temperatures are moderating, the wildfire risk from the North Complex Fire's west zone remains high in Butte County, fire officials said.
"Folks, the danger is not over yet," said Honea, referring to increased fire activity near Forbestown Reservoir Rd.
Residents in communities including Forbestown, Feather Falls, Challenge and Robinson Mill should be prepared to evacuate should the situation worsen, he said. Many communities in those areas are now under an evacuation order.
While social media is carrying stories about some residents who chose not to evacuate and others who did leave but now want to get back in, Honea said, "folks, the danger is not over yet. You may have been lucky one time, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to be able to survive another fire that comes to the area."
He urged people under order to evacuate to do so "as soon as possible."
Honea said of the 15 people who perished in the wildfire, "a good number of them chose to stay in the area even after they knew the fire was coming."
The sheriff's office has released the identification of all but one of the victims, he said.
Due to the hazards that remain, Honea said a law enforcement escort program will start soon, with signup requests being taken at www.buttecounty.net/sheriff.
An evacuation warning was lifted on Saturday morning for the area of Cherokee Road from Thompson Flat Road north of Highway 70, east to Lake Oroville, Honea said. Areas under evacuation orders and warnings can be seen on www.buttecounty.net/sheriff or received by calling 530-532-3010.
