Escambia County School District bus hits vehicle on Aruba Drive

An Escambia County School District bus transporting four students Monday evening hit a vehicle at Aruba Drive and Benning Place, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The school bus, driven by a 65-year-old Pensacola woman, was traveling north on Aruba Drive at 4:43 p.m. A white Dodge Ram driven by a 21-year-old Milton man was traveling south on Aruba Drive. As the bus negotiated a curve, there was a vehicle parked in the roadway.

The school bus changed lanes into the southbound lane to go around the parked vehicle. As it returned into the proper lane, the rear driver side tire made contact with the driver side rear corner of the Dodge Ram.

An 11-year-old and three 13-year-old students were on board, however there were no reported injuries.
