Xbox Controller Flight Stick 3D-Printed
Just picked up Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and can’t find a flight stick in stock? Well, there’s a workaround if you have a spare Xbox controller and a 3D printer around. Akaki Kuumeri managed to create a HOTAS (hands on throttle-and-stick) using simple 3D-printed, snap together parts. What he ended up was a flight stick perfect for casual gaming. Sure, it may not be the prettiest of mods, but we’re sure someone out there is going to go above and beyond with their version. Read more for a video demonstration and how to make your own.

As you can see in the video, the joystick or the throttle unit too can be printed individually, as all parts print without supports. Once printed, simply snap the parts together like in the video, then slide in your controller before setting the control stick to the right thumbstick and your throttle to the left trigger. For extra spring tension, just snake in a short rubber band through the special channels in the joystick mechanism. Download the plans here.
